Credit Programming

Semester 5 begins May 6, 2024. 

Registration for Semester 5 begins Tuesday, April 16, 2024. To register, come in and meet with our guidance counsellor during the following times. No appointment is needed.  The deadline to register for Semester 5 is May 9, 2024. 

Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays

9:30 am to 12:00 pm/12:45 pm to 4:00 pm

Wednesday Evenings 

4:45 pm to 6:00 pm

To streamline your registration process, please bring a piece of ID and your most recent high school transcript with you when you come in. 

All new and former students need to register for the new school year. 

For students outside of the Thunder Bay area, LAEC is partnered with Contact North. Contact North has locations in communities across Ontario to assist with registration, technical support, and much more.

English as a Second Language Programming

English as a Second Language (ESL) Programming allows students to build second language skills in reading, writing, listening, and speaking, and to earn credits towards the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD). Elementary International Language Programs

Program Information

The Elementary International Languages Program offers students the opportunity to learn to listen, speak and write in a new language or to maintain the language of their home or heritage. Classes are open to students in Kindergarten to Grade 8. No prior knowledge of the language is necessary to enroll in these classes.

  • Finnish 
  • Mandarin
